About the Artist :
What role does art play in your personal well-being?
“Art plays a major role in my wellbeing in a number of ways. Art to me is healing in the sense that it allows me to express what I’m feeling. It allows me a way to cope in time that I’m having personal difficulties. There are times that I’m depressed, angry or just not able to think straight while feeling overwhelmingly stressed. My art allows me a chance to refocus and think positively about something other current life stuff. My art is also my way to honor those of whom I have victimized in the past. I am able to earn something to make small donations to worthy causes as well as better take care of myself and my daily basics. – J. Isom”
Does your art have any connection to your personality?
“My art is connected me because I’m a sensitive person. Like because of abuse that I have experienced throughout my childhood. As I have stated in my Bio; art allows me to express how I really feel without words. It allows me to address thing without ever voicing them. My art has helped me to develop into a more empathetic and caring person. I see my art as a bridge into the lives of others. I intend to make a difference through my work.
– J. Isom”
